Gary Player Design appoint Braemar Golf

July 19, 2012

The St Andrews based international advisory, management and construction company, Braemar Golf, have been appointed by Gary Player Design to the role of project agronomist for the breathtaking project about to commence at Lustica  Bay in Montenegro. The project itself is a joint venture between Orascom and the government of Montenegro and is destined to become one of the great European golf resorts on arguably one of the best golf course sites in Europe.

Jonathan Pendry, Golf Courses Director for Braemar comments "We have been fortunate to have worked with Gary Player Design on previous projects and there is a mutual respect and understanding as to each others reputation and the pursuit of excellence. Foremost in our consideration will be how to select the most sustainable solutions for the golf course, be this with turf grass selection, root zone profiles or water management / control techniques. Our brief is to ensure that this world class design is enhanced through these considerations and in keeping with the local landscape and environment".

The site in Tivat, which will be home to Montenegro 's first golf course, is truly stunning and surrounded by sea and mountain views. With a top-notch championship golf course, world-class marinas, five-star hotels, gourmet dining, exceptional night life and entertainment, Lustica  Bay will have everything seasoned travellers have come to expect from Europe 's finest resort towns.

Scott Ferrell, President of Gary Player Design added "We have worked on other projects of similar quality and site characteristics which Braemar Golf were also involved with and saw their professionalism, commitment to quality and advice they provided to the client. This is the first time we have appointed them as our project agronomist but they are a very good regional fit, and we are confident they will provide Gary Player Design with the same level of service we have seen previously".
