Apple
Awarded to BIGGA
The chairman of the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA)
received a Gold Green Apple Award 2000 during a recent resentation ceremony at
the Cafe Royal in central London.
Elliot Small's prize was made in recognition of BIGGA's contribution to Environmental
Best Practice 2000 and the development of the golf environment competition to
increase golfers' awareness of green issues.
Meanwhile, Richard Noble OBE will deliver the keynote speech during BTME
2001, Europe's largest indoor fine turf exhibition. Noble, former holder of the
world land speed record, was behind the Thrust SSC car which achieved the first
ever supersonic land speed record in 1997. Preparations for the event, which draws
greenkeepers and those connected with the fine turf industry to Harrogate from
all over the world, are well underway for the show which runs from January 22-26. |
