MARRIOTT
– WORSLEY PARK HOTEL & COUNTRY CLUB
£300k INVESTMENT FOR PRIDE OF THE
NORTH WEST
One
of Britain's leading golf courses is to receive a cash injection of £300,000 according
to an announcement made today.
The
investment is planned for the championship standard, 18 hole golf course at Marriott
Manchester Worsley Park Hotel and Country Club and will further improve facilities
to benefit members of the club, hotel guests and visitors.
Funds
will be used to develop the ‘state of the art’ drainage system which saves local
water supplies by collecting rainwater from the reservoirs on the hotel grounds
and using it to keep the greens at their very best at all times of the year.
An all purpose half-way house has been erected, allowing players and observers
to take refreshments and rests at the tenth hole while other works will concentrate
on aspects such as course wild life and plant life.
Already
renowned for its award winning, environmental management practices, the £300,000
funding for the golf course represents a significant investment into the North
West’s leading sporting venue. A fact of which Andy Salmon, Golf Manager of
the hotel, believes local people should be very proud.
Andy
comments, “This is a very exciting time for us. Developments are set to be rolled out throughout
the next few months and golfers will be able to see a real benefit, both to the
championship course ad the facilities we have to offer. We are proud to have a premier sporting facility
to rival ant national course, here on our doorstep in the North West.”
